[column]In early January, Van der Ende received an extensive order from the Department of Public Works to conserve two bridges in southern Limburg. Over the next two years, we will provide the Bow Bridge in Beek and the Scharberg Bridge in Elsloo with a new preservation system.
The surface of the two bridges is over 60,000 m2. We will blast the surface to cleanliness grade Sa2½, after which we will apply a durable paint system with an expected life span of twenty years. The completion of the work will take place at the end of 2015.

[column]For the tendering of this project, the Department of Public Works used a so-called EMVI contract, in which not only the price but also the approach determines who ultimately wins the contract. Our approach to minimizing disruption, securing the schedule and limiting CO2 emissions, as described in the plan of approach, was ultimately decisive in awarding this work to our organization.
