Blasting and preservation of storage tanks finished

The blasting and preservation of Rubis ‘ ten new storage tanks is finished. An exceptional project that we completed to the client’s complete satisfaction.

Blasting and preservation of tanks: exhaustive maintenance

What made the overall work exceptional was the pretreatment method (Torbo blasting) and the height of the tanks. Whereas normal storage tanks are between 15 and 20 meters high, the new tanks at Rubis are 25 to 30 meters high. The blasting and preservation of the tanks was an exhausting maintenance mainly for the painters. Especially by climbing up and down the scaffolding several times a day.

On Sept. 22, the final phase of the Rubis Terminal (RT2) at the Botlek was completed. This officially opened the imposing terminal. The total delivery was in five phases. The ten new storage tanks delivered by Van der Ende provide an additional 32,500 cubic meters of storage capacity for chemical storage.
