In recent years, the Certification of Competence of Metal Preservers came about, a joint initiative of Rotterdam Painting Consultants B.V., Elsevier Training and Det Norske Veritas.
Van der Ende is a participant in this certification institute. Six employees of our company have now been examined on workmanship. As a pilot, a theoretical exam and a practical part were taken. The results were very positive.
In 2000 a lot of work was done by the various organizations to get the certification of skilled metal conservators accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council. The initiative was supported by, among others, the Ministry of VROM, the Netherlands Petroleum Company, NS Rail-infrabeheer, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, TenneT, Bouwdienst Rijkswaterstaat, Akzo Nobel Coatings, Akzo Chemie, and Sigma Coatings. As of 2006, Van der Ende already has 31 certified employees.
