Every project is a challenge. This is also true of the more than 360-meter-long Scharberg Bridge in Elsloo, Limburg. The work is proceeding as expected, phases 1 and 2 have now been completed: half of more than 45,000m2 of the bridge’s steel has been completely reconditioned. The fresh green color gives the bridge a natural look. The shielding construction of phase 3 is now in full swing with the application of the paint system.
On the part of the bridge, located over the Juliana Canal, we are reinstalling scaffolding in phase 4. This is the most challenging phase of the project. Scaffolding on the bridge must not interfere with passage. This makes the space for the scaffolding limited. Working with a very knowledgeable scaffold builder, we were able to create a design that would not allow work on the bridge to interfere with navigation. Great work!
