[column]The maintenance of the Oosterschelde barrier has been awarded to OSK Conserveringsgroep B.V., a partnership between Van der Ende Infrastructure BV. and GSB Services BV. We are proud of that! The project team is currently being put together.
Last Thursday, a giant drywell was placed around one of the level measuring stations in the Eastern Scheldt. These monitoring stations provide vital information for the warning system of the Eastern Scheldt storm surge barrier. Decisions on possible closures must be operational at all times. [/column]
[column]The 3.30-meter diameter Sounding Stations are enclosed by a 5.20-meter diameter drywell. After the water is pumped out of the drying pit, the coating is completely removed with grit blasting up to two meters below the low water line (NAP -3.00 m). Then the gauging stations will be provided with a new paint system. Our partner GSB Services BV is carrying out the work on behalf of OSK Conserveringsgroep BV. [/column]
[column]The installation of the drywell at the first monitoring station went extremely well. In about six weeks, the drywell will be moved to the North Sea inner harbor. The second gauging station will be done in the same way. [/column]
