Amsterdam CS, one of the most beautiful and heavily visited central stations in the Netherlands, is being scaffolded. This historic and unique station will undergo a major refurbishment in the coming years. Van der Ende has been chosen by ProRail for the impressive painting work: painting the woodwork and all the steel structures in the two huge railroad halls.
The painting work at Amsterdam Central Station covers an area of 80,000m². The steel structures and all woodwork will be provided with a new three-layer paint system. We are also tasked with replacing approximately 45,000m² of bird netting.
In 2011 we renovated Hollands Spoor in The Hague, this was another imposing job on a beautiful monumental structure. We are therefore very pleased with the assignment in Amsterdam. The prestigious project will start in February 2016 and completion is expected in mid-2018. The total value for the order is €3.4 million excluding VAT.
