[column]After months of preparation and many consultations with ProRail, a major 124-hour out-of-service and stress relief was organized in week 42. To handle the most complex parts of the bridge and dismantle scaffolding that had been installed during previous out-of-service repairs. This involved the dismantling of 180 tons of scaffolding material in 24-hour shifts by Harsco Infra Structure.
In addition, the 2 birth points of the bridge were scaffolded and shrink-wrapped so that they could be blasted, after which they were given a 3-layer coating system.

[column]The blasting work was successfully performed by 8 grit blasters. In the subsequent shifts, approximately 14 painters and 8 cleanup workers worked day and night to complete the job.
Subcontractor Qumey Metaal B.V. will simultaneously install 360 meters of new platform gratings on the 6 approach bridges. With this finishing work, we have come to the completion of the project after more than 2 years of hard work. [/column]
[column]In the next 3 weeks, we will put the finishing touches on the project and it will be delivered, after which the bridge will be handed back to Prorail.[/column]
