In February, Van der Ende Straal- en Schilderwerken received the order for the complete blasting and painting of newly built tanks of Oiltanking in Terneuzen.
The scope of work involves 10 tank bottoms, 9 tank roofs and 27 tank shells. A total of over 135,000 m2. The work has an unprecedented deadline: Completion with the exception of the outer shells is set for July 1, 2013. Oiltanking has awarded the contract to Van der Ende, not primarily because of the keenest price, but precisely because it has amply demonstrated that Van der Ende is able to carry out this job on time and according to specification.
Van der Ende has not worked for Oiltanking before. Clients in the top 10 of our reference list, previously provided upon request, have been approached by Oiltanking. Our references unanimously stated that Van der Ende would be the best party to perform the job. This confirmation by our clients and Oiltanking’s conclusions led to the awarding of this contract, Oiltanking later told us.
Meanwhile, we have arrived on site with large equipment and the manpower is being steadily increased to about 70 men. Within a few weeks, simultaneous work will be done on 5 storage tanks.
