[column]Commissioned by the Engineering Office of the Municipality of Rotterdam, we have started the reconditioning of the Admiralty Bridge. The existing paint system of this bridge located in the heart of Rotterdam will be completely removed by means of grit blasting. Then a combination of a thermally sprayed zinc/aluminum layer and a wet paint system will be applied. This combination provides a durable preservation, minimizing future maintenance costs. [/column]
[column]The bridge’s location creates practical challenges. For example, traffic across the bridge can only be blocked to a very limited extent. Also, the inconvenience to the homes located around the bridge must be kept to a minimum. [/column]
[column]Currently, the bridge is completely hidden from view by the shielding structure, but within a few weeks the bridge will be back in its full glory.[/column]
