Corrosion under insulation is a problem faced by many facility owners. Due to the unfavorable climate under insulation, “normal” coatings offer only limited protection against corrosion. Therefore, for critical equipment, other methods are often sought that offer better and long-term protection. BP Refinery Rotterdam, for example, was looking for such a solution for the head of one of its distillation towers. With Thermal Spray Aluminum (TSA), Van der Ende offered the desired solution.
The fact that the head of the tower is some 40 meters above the ground and that the work also had to be carried out created some additional “challenges. Through excellent cooperation with the client, we delivered a high-quality piece of work well within the schedule. This will allow the tower to function without corrosion problems for years to come.
