After a successful trial in 2002 in cooperation with Nerefco Europoort, Van der Ende commissioned two vertical dust-free blasting machines in the last quarter of 2002. This makes Van der Ende the first and only Dutch metal preservation company to apply this technique.
The plant features a self-propelled rigging system, so that operating a unit requires very little effort. The rigging system can be adjusted so that the machines can be used very flexibly. In this way, floating roof tanks can be blasted both internally and externally.
Even from tanks with a fixed roof, the outside of the wall can be treated in this way. The used blasting grit is recycled so that the amount of waste is reduced by about 90. With this investment, Van der Ende hopes to contribute to a reduction in environmental impact.
