In November 2003, Van der Ende was awarded the contract to pre-treat and conserve the steel railroad bridges over the Waal River near Zaltbommel.
The work consists of removing rust and old coating layers by wet blasting and applying a new paint system. Work will begin in the first quarter of 2004. Preservation of the bridges will take a total of four years.
