The early years
Van der Ende was founded in 1929, a time of economic uncertainty. But through hard work and dedication, the company soon managed to build a solid reputation. In the early years we were mainly active in large shipyards, where we protected the steel of the ships from the harsh conditions of the sea.
Expansion and specialization
In the 1970s, Van der Ende began to focus more on industrial and infrastructure projects – in part due to the crisis in Dutch shipyards. This diversification helped ensure the company’s continuity and continued growth in these constantly changing markets.
Innovation and growth
Over the past 30 years, we have experienced significant growth as a company. Today, with over 250 colleagues, we successfully serve our customers. We have a leading role in the steel preservation industry.
Since the 1990s, Van der Ende has made tremendous advances in pre-treatment methods and coating technologies. Our process-oriented and innovative approach has resulted in new products, techniques, methodologies and forms of cooperation that not only improve the protection of steel, but also structurally reduce project duration and maintenance costs. In addition, these innovations have increased safety and reduced environmental impact, contributing to more sustainable production processes. Examples include dust-free blasting, the suspended bridge system that made scaffolding unnecessary in many situations, mobile grit recycling units, Torbo moisture blasting technology, ultra high pressure water jetting and the advanced coating robot.
