Pretreatment
Pretreating the substrate before applying protective coatings is crucial. During pretreatment, the surface is stripped of such things as mill scale, corrosion, old coatings and other contaminants in order to achieve proper cleanliness.
In addition, proper pretreatment also provides a surface that has sufficient roughness to ensure optimal adhesion of the coating to be applied. Cleanliness and roughness provide the foundation for the paint system to be applied.
Balance between investment and lifetime
Proper pre-treatment significantly increases the durability and effectiveness of the coating, but is costly in the short term. But also the removal of lead, Chrome VI and coal tar containing old coatings.

Van der Ende offers advanced solutions for the removal of Chromium VI-containing paint coatings, other types of coatings containing heavy metals (e.g., lead) and/or PAH-containing coatings (e.g., coal tar).
