BRIDGE SPECIALIST VAN DER ENDE STARTS CONSERVATION LOCK BRIDGE IN VLISSINGEN

Of the Province of Zeeland, Van der Ende received the commission for the preservation of the lock bridge. In vertical position the bridge is over 35 meters high, was completely packed by the scaffolder to protect the environment from escaping jet dust. An imposing edifice, which is being treated with great dedication.

The whole bridge is blasted completely blank in two phases (Sa2½) and provided with a 3-coating epoxy system with a polyurethane finishing layer. The second phase of execution will only take place in March 2015. In connection with the necessary blocks, it is not possible to perform the maintenance of the bridge in one phase.

This is the second project allocated in a short time based on EMVI criteria (most economically advantageous tender). The main factors were Quality management and planning. The work was commissioned by the Provinciale Waterstaat Zeeland.
