Van der Ende receives international BP ‘Believe in Zero’ safety award

During the festive opening of the new safety center at the BP Refinery Rotterdam, Van der Ende’s team was surprised with the presentation of the ‘Believe in Zero’ safety award. Roland Edelenbosch (manager HSSE) handed the award and the accompanying letter with congratulations from Tufan Erginbilgic (CEO Downstream) to Fred van Meeteren and Erik Suijkerbuijk . Van der Ende was nominated for this international award by the BPRR organization. The motivation for the nomination includes reading:

‘The team has an outstanding safety record with no recordables nor first aids over a prolonged period of time (> 3 years), is always active in recognizing and reporting unsafe situations, and the team is consistently ranked as number one in the quarterly Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire. The categories that are assessed with this questionnaire are safety, quality, skills, work process, cost and innovation.’

‘The team’s performance is showing that an outstanding safety record go hand in hand with operational excellence. The team is an example for other contractors and a strong contributor to the ‘we believe in zero and we will make it happen’ program.’

With such praise, we can not be anything other than being incredibly proud. It proves our vision with regard to cooperation with clients and our policy in the fields of safety, health, quality and the environment actually result in satisfied customers.
