Van der Ende selected in Wilhelmina Bridge tender

It was a tense time for Van der Ende; competing in a tender based on Best Value Procurement is quite something. And the result is something to be proud of: the VOF Van der Ende Infrastructure and Edilon Sedra Contracting consortium has been selected for the Wilhelmina Bridge project. It is a huge project with a tight time schedule.
What is Best Value Procurement.

Best Value Procurement (BVP) is a different form of tendering. In this procedure contractors have to prove that they offer the best value for the project within the budget and set goals. The criterion for the consortium: experience from previous projects, in which good references were decisive. The real experts really stand out in this way. VOF Van der Ende and Edilon Sedra came out on top for the Wilhelmina Bridge Project Best Value Project. This project is worth a total 6.6 million euros.

Wilhemina Bridge at Deventer

The Wilhelmina Bridge was built between 1939 and 1943, but was blown up by the German occupying forces in April 1945. After the liberation it was rebuilt following the original design and was put back into operation again in 1948. The bridge has served as an important connection across the river IJssel for 68 years. The bridge is now part of Rijkswaterstaat (Directorate General for Public Works and Water Management) Great Variable Maintenance programme.

We expect to be able to start with maintenance works in mid-June. Completion is planned for the end of December 2016. The emphasis in this project is on quality and minimum traffic inconvenience. We are really looking forward to tackling this great challenge and will keep you informed. More about this special project soon!
