VAN DER ENDE WINS CONTRACT TO RENOVATE THE PLATFORM ROOF OF ZAANDAM RAILWAY STATION

ProRail has awarded the contract for renovating the platform roof of Zaandam Railway Station to Van der Ende Infrastructure. The preservation work, consisting of the pre-treatment and painting of approximately 8,000m2 of steel structure is set to start in mid-May 2018.

At the same time, 489 polycarbonate roof domes and approximately 1,200m2 of polycarbonate rain screens are replaced. The entire roof will be renovated as well, as part of which the current roof covering will be repaired and the existing gutters fitted with new polyester. The total contract value amounts to € 2.25 million, exclusive of VAT.

The work is scheduled for completion in May 2019. The railway station will remain operational as normal while the work is carried out. The nearby shops and catering establishments will continue to be easily accessible.

Van der Ende Steel Protectors Group has acquired a considerable market share where station maintenance is concerned. In addition to this contract, we are currently carrying out major maintenance at Amsterdam Central Railway Station and Tilburg Railway Station on behalf of ProRail.
